Latest Edition of Gambling's Most Trusted Guide 

US slots players looking for the machines with the country’s highest returns will find them at casinos in the Reno suburb, Sparks, Nevada.  This is but a taste of advice to be found in Steve Bourie’s 2006 edition of the American Casino Guide.  Bourie’s annual, handy guide presents detailed statistics on slot machines in 34 US States.    

According to the guide, "In Nevada's last fiscal year, the Sparks' casinos returned an average of 95.28%, making them the highest in the country and just edging out the casinos located along the Boulder Strip corridor in Las Vegas which returned 94.98%. The country's lowest payback was at Casino Aztar in Caruthersville, Missouri, which returned just 89.88%."  All slot payback figures and percentages were obtained through state gaming commissions. 

Bourie also provides readers with stats on slot machines in Indian Casinos.  "Most Indian casinos don't release their payback percentages, but we do list information on the minimum payback percentages required by the terms of their gaming compact with each state.”

The first American Casino Guide was published in 1992.  It has been published annually ever since.  It has currently sold over 450,000 copies.  The latest edition, at 496 pages in length, is a travel guide to consumers.  The book gives money saving ideas for every last US casino, including riverboat and Indian Casinos.  That adds up to over 700 casinos and resorts spread across 36 states. 

One of the guide’s most cherished properties is its coupon section.  Consumers can save more than $1,000 with 191 coupons.  Savings include free offers on food, drinks, rooms, shows, money and the list continues.
